Who we are

Learn more about what we do

We produce independent, cutting-edge research that can be used by policymakers to inform education policy, and by schools to improve practice.

We are expert analysts of education data and use these skills to produce impactful reports, visualisations and policy recommendations.

Among the topics we cover are:

  • assessment reform in England, and the wider UK;
  • the impact of school accountability measures;
  • trends in pupil demographics;
  • the admissions system;
  • post-16 education;
  • the teacher labour market;
  • the academy trust landscape;
  • school funding;
  • international comparisons of England’s education system.

We regularly produce analyses for schools, academy trusts, central and local government organisations, and others with an interest in education – and frequently speak to those in the classroom to understand the impact that policies have at the chalkface.
