Who we are

Learn more about what we do

We produce independent, cutting-edge research that can be used by policymakers to inform education policy, and by schools and programme providers to improve practice.

We are expert analysts of education data and use these skills to produce insightful reports, impact evaluations and policy analysis.

Among the topics we cover are:

    • assessment reform in England, and the wider UK;
    • the impact of school accountability measures;
    • trends in pupil demographics;
    • qualifications;
    • the admissions system;
    • post-16 education;
    • trends in school attendance;
    • literacy and reading;
    •  exclusions and the alternative provision system;
    • the academy trust landscape.

We regularly produce work for schools, academy trusts, government organisations and others with an interest in education, and specialise in analysis of government datasets.
