Absence this year appears to have increased compared to last year in secondary schools in most regions and in primary schools in the north of England.
Progress 8 scores are positively correlated with the average number of entries in GCSEs and other approved qualifications. We dig into the relationship in more detail.
Attainment in maths fell between 2019 and 2022. There are suggestions from data collected so far that some regions have been slightly more affected than others.
